Homeschooling? – 4-days-a-Week homeschool possible

[ad_1]

In homeschool, we did all assigned courses in 4 days each week. The fifth day was reserved for my kids to explore their areas of special passion. It was still a “school day” we left it largely unstructured. When my children were younger, it was the fifth day reserved for “park day” or “book report lunches.” And they got older, however, the fifth day was left for them to learn the area passion (in our case, chess and economics) and also work on decent work.

I am often asked how we managed to “do it all” in four days. The short answer is – we did not

We used Sonlight most basic of high school. Most of what my children could be completed in 4 days. We did not “do it all”, however. We opened rarely mentors follow at all – we just did a project listed in the plan, without any analysis and discussion. Some reading, which was the Sonlight plan was not something they considered work, so that they would read to the fifth day without me telling them. They also made a whole math lesson and all foreign language lesson on the fifth day. With Apologia, we can do science in 3 or 4 days a week, and a lot of other things were not as rigid and mathematics, foreign language, and Sonlight.

I think it is very important to overwhelm the child, and you are in the best position to know what it looks like. . Do not encourage your child to do too much so that their fixation on material slips

In short, do not do what I did -. Do what works for you and your homeschool

General homeschooling generally allows sufficient time for specialization. As long as you schedule time for fun, it does not matter if it is a little bit every day, or a whole lot once a week (as I did.) I often see kids do stuff for fun, specialization mom is registration for the school. There is a school, it should be placed on a copy. At the same time, these are fun specialization You do not have to leave time for more specialization if they are already doing it.
